WATCH HISTORY
Track what you have watched, resume where you left off, and maintain privacy across profiles. 95% completion detection keeps your "watched" list accurate without requiring you to sit through the credits.
Profile-Isolated History
Watch history is always scoped to the active profile. When multiple people use the same FluxPlay account with different profiles, each person sees only their own viewing activity — progress bars, continue watching, and recommendations remain personal.
Capabilities
Resume Playback
The player saves your position every 10 seconds. Re-opening any item prompts you to resume from where you left off.
Completion Tracking
Items watched past the 95% mark are automatically marked as watched. The threshold is configurable per user.
Per-Profile History
Each user profile maintains completely isolated watch history. Sharing a device does not mix viewing records.
Privacy Controls
Users can hide individual items from history, pause history recording entirely, or clear all history at once.
History Export
Export your complete watch history as CSV or JSON for personal archiving or importing into other services.
Recommendations
Watch history feeds the recommendation engine to surface content you are likely to enjoy next.
Resume Positions
The player writes a progress record to the server every 10 seconds during playback. If playback is interrupted — browser close, network failure, device sleep — the last saved position is used. Positions are stored per-profile and per-item, so watching the same movie on two profiles tracks independent positions.
Resume behavior
- →Position saved every 10 seconds (configurable 5–60 seconds)
- →Resume prompt shown when > 5% of content has been watched
- →Auto-resume without prompt is configurable per-profile
- →Position cleared when item is marked as watched
Completion Threshold
The default completion threshold is 95%. When a user's playback position passes this mark, the item is automatically marked as watched, the resume position is cleared, and the item moves from "Continue Watching" to "Watch History." The threshold is configurable from 50% to 99% under Settings → Playback → Completion Threshold.
Privacy Controls
Hide an Item
Remove a specific title from history view without deleting the progress record.
Delete an Item
Permanently remove the watch record for a title, including resume position.
Pause History
Temporarily stop recording new history entries. Existing records are preserved.
Clear All History
Delete all watch history for the current profile. This action cannot be undone.
History and Recommendations
The recommendation engine uses watch history to weight genre, cast, director, and era preferences. Items you have completed receive more weight than items you started but did not finish. Clearing or pausing history removes or suspends its influence on recommendations.
